In 2017, Chef Monique Fiso hosted her first Hiakai pop-up event in Northern Canterbury, New Zealand.
Fiso transformed a traditional Māori Hāngi meal into a fine-dining experience for lucky guests. The weekend-long event featured creamy yard tents, several distinct courses, and a cocktail hour to boot.
Fiso has since opened a restaurant in Wellington, New Zealand, which received TIME's accolade of the “World’s Greatest 100 Places” in 2019. She also appeared on Netflix's first season of The Final Table, and National Geographic's UNCHARTED with Gordon Ramsay.
Mirage
Captured in low ISO film, "Mirage" captures a summer evening in bloom. The project features curved distortions from the 35mm focal length, chromatic aberration in the woodland, subtle grain, a range of cool colors and crisp, warm sunlight to highlight natural beauty.
